Since JFDraw 1.3.0 We enhanced true color GIFs exporting, then added some new exporting image formats, such as SVG,EPS,SWF,EMF,CGM,PDF,PPM and TIFF.

There are still some not so graceful behaviors in those exporting features, since they're depending on some third party open source libraries. The major restrictions in these exporting formats are:

• Shapes with some fill formats can not be supported in EPS, SWF or other vector formats.And also exporting such shapes would occur a raw image error in PDF formats. Although this can be easily done in any image formats, such as GIF,JPG,PNG, PPM or TIFF. So you'd better clear these shapes' fill formats before exporting them into those vector formats.
   
• Some non-English characters, such as Asian ones, could not be supported in SWF, CGM, PDF, or some other vector formats. Although there are some suggestions on net to support those languages under MS True Type fonts, but we just wonder it's not platform independent.
   

But anyway, you can still export your shapes in JFDraw into those vector or image formats in most cases. And we suggest you to avoid those restrictions in your ways.
